So music therapy can be accessed by those in underserved areas in the state of Florida
WHY JOYFUL MUSIC?
In Florida, Music Therapy is not covered by most health insurances, and there is no reimbursement through Medicaid or Medicare. This is an obstacle for many families and facilities that would benefit from Music Therapy. For many years Joyful Music Therapy has desired to start a foundation that would help to fund Music Therapy services and advocate for Music Therapy.
In February 2017 Joyful Music Therapy Foundation was approved as a 501(c)(3). We are still in the infant stages of setting up fundraising events and looking for grants, but we know that this foundation will help bring Music Therapy to those in need.
